Was Judas Iscariot Lost from the Beginning?

People say Judas Iscariot was never "found" saved in the first place, he was lost from the beginning, which is not true:

Mat 10:1  And when he had called unto him His twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
2  Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3  Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
4  Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.
5  These twelve Yahushua sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6  But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of shamayim (heaven) is at hand.
8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Matthew 10:16

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves."

Judas was counted as one of Yahushua's sheep and was given authority just as the other eleven - impossible if he was not "found" (saved) at that stage.

John 17:6-12

“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been magnified in them. I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Set apart Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them was lost but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

Yahushua says that not one of them were lost, except the son of perdition, Judas. Judas was lost. He cannot be lost unless he was found at one time. He was a sheep, and got lost because he willfully wandered away from Yahushua.

Yahushua has promised to keep and protect us (John 10:25-30), and that’s what He did with the disciples here. But the power to keep us remains so long as we remain, by our emunah (faith), in Him:

1 Peter 1:3-5

By His great chesed (mercy) he gave us new birth into a living tikvah (hope) through the resurrection of Yahushua Messiah from the dead, that is, into an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in shamayim (heaven) for you, who by YHUH's power are protected through emunah (faith) for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

If we deny Him, He will deny us (2 Tim. 2:11-13).

Just because Judas was doomed to destruction, and YHUH knew in advance that Judas would betray Him, does not mean that he was not of the way at one time. Judas is very much like the prophet Balaam; both believed and were given the baruch (blessing) of supernatural spiritual gifts, and yet they both fell away from their emunah (faith) and ceased to abide in Him. They did not endure until the end, but chased after their own pleasures.

Matthew 7:22-23

On that day, many will say to me, ‘Master, Master, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’

Just as the parable with the ten virgins, the five who had oil (the set apart spirit) and walked away, and likewise Messiah says that He didn’t know them (Matt.25:11-12).

Some may point out that Messiah says that “He never knew” these people, meaning that at no time were these people true born-again believers. This goes against scriptures teaching that we can know those that are children of YHUH (1 John 3:7-8, 10; Matt.7:16-17; Acts 11:22-23).

YHUH is omniscient, and YHUH knows all things and all people. No one would deny this. We know that Messiah doesn’t mean that He never knew these people in this way.

Scripture teaches that a righteous man (righteousness only comes by emunah (faith)) that turns to wickedness and never repents back to YHUH will die in their sin. YHUH says that He will not remember their righteous works (they will be under His wrath at the judgment). YHUH can obviously not forget, but the eternal perspective is that they never had righteous works, because they willfully walked away from Him. This is the same idea with Matt.7:22-23. Messiah always knew these people would abandon Him, just like He knew Judas would abandon Him (Psalm 41:9). Eternally, He never knew them.

Simon Peter was also on the verge of losing his salvation but Yahushua intervened:

Luk 22:31  Yahushua said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32  But I have prayed for thee, that thy emunah (faith) fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33  And he said unto him, Master, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34  And He said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that you know me.

Luke 22:61  And Yahushua turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the words of Yahushua, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crows, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62  And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

As if to reverse the three denials, Yahushua has Simon give three affirmations of love for Him as He communes with HIs disciples after resurrection.

John 21:13  Yahushua then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
14  This is now the third time that Yahushua shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
15  So when they had dined, Yahushua saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Master; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
16  He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Master; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
17  He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Master, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Yahushua saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
18  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
19  This spake he, signifying by what death he should magnify YHUH. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

In other words, Yahushua confirmed that, now, after His intervention, Simon would follow Him to death and would not lose His salvation and reward of eternal life as He would be martyred.

Any of us can lose our salvation, there is no OSAS. We must endure to our last breath, as Yahushua says:

Mar 13:20  And except that YHUH had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21  And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Messiah; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22  For false Messiahs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23  But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
