The Problem With Large Numbers in Scripture

Large numbers boggle the mind and sometimes become a stumbling block to people reading scripture. I came across an article recently which stated that due to the excessively large numbers given for Passover sacrificial lambs/goat kids/bullocks to be slaughtered the scriptural account of Yahushua being our Passover lamb and dying at the time of the slaughtering of the offerings could not be true. The maths given does make sense. It worried me. Then I thought, could it be that some numbers in scripture were not properly translated over time into our present-day scriptures? I looked up some information on this and sure enough there is a hiccup regarding numbers in scripture when it comes to proper understanding and translation.

I hope this helps. No, I'm not a Latter day Saint but I found they had covered this topic adequately and so am referring to it :-)
