A woman is a help meet for man, in other words, she is help most suitable with the right aptitude :-) So, if you refer to a woman in the congregation, best to refer to her as help and not look ignorant of old English. I personally have never liked this helpmeet term as it has never made sense to me - if you mean helpmate then say it as such!
Anyway, just a thought.
